Seeing red! (New hair color!) Ion Hair Color Review

So I dyed my hair finally! I was debating going purple but thanks to Katy Perry, EVERYONE is going purple, so that was a no. Maybe next time? I wanted to go red but thanks to Ariana Grande, everyone else was going the shade of red I originally wanted to go. No seriously, YouTube red hair and you will find hundred, maybe even thousands of chicks not only going the same color BUT also using the same hair dye. No offense to anyone, but I really don't like walking into a room and seeing 10 other people with the same hair color as me if I took the time to dye my hair so that I could make a statement. And yes, it's a vanity thing!
Moving along, I used this:

To get this:

Gorgeous right? I love this color! It's a natural color without being too natural! It looks amazing in the sun too? It's actually a dark red that fades to a brighter red. It's pretty great actually!

The Process

1. I bleached my hair first. I did a brown to blond ombre in my hair while I debated what color I wanted to go.

2. After months of debating, I finally decided on a color. Color + Developer + 45 minutes of waiting (aka Tumblr) =

It's an intense red right? (Ha! I used the hair color name to describe is as a joke... Get it? Lame? Okay.... I'll stop. <.<. Sorry...)

The next time I color someone's hair (as long as they're alright with it) I will make a video in depth on dying hair.

The Rant

If you ask anyone who knows me well, they'll tell you that I do not ever recommend using drug store hair dyes. This isn't because I'm a professional, I promise. Drug store colors are made with some of the worst things for your hair. If you're going to damage your hair, do it in the gentlest way possible. Drug store dyes are the absolute worst way to go, and do not, I repeat, DO NOT get me started on the color fade. I have only seen one person get a great color from a drug store box, and she was a professional hairstylist too.

Another thing I beg of is that you at least do your homework before slather any kind of coloring on your hair. I have fixed so many awful dye jobs that were DIY. With all the YouTube videos out there, there really is no excuse. And while a lot of people aren't professionals that post YouTube videos, it's still a lot better than trying to just jump into dying your hair. Trust me.

The Review

Okay, the part you've probably been waiting (im)patiently for! I really love how the color turned out. If you don't want it ias bright, use a 20 vol developer. if you want it brighter, use a 40 vol. I used a 30 vol and it turned out great. The ease of use was really nice. For the normal head of hair, this dye would have been more than enough, but for thicker hair, get two boxes. I ended up using two boxes completely.

The only con I had was the smell. It was a little worse than other dyes I've used, which is really saying something. No really, I didn't think the smell could get THIS bad. I used a mask and it was still bad. Do not use this in a closed in area or you will regret it!

Now to the numbers!

Color: 5/5
This color is perfect and when I used my products there is no color bleed at all! I am impressed!

Ease of usage: 4/5
Where as applying with a brush or bottle is easy, that smell... OMG that smell!

Finished results: 5/5
Again, this color is amazing and my hair was soooooo soft afterwards. I can't even!

Overall Score: 5/5 would recommend!
Go out and get this next time you color your hair. That have a huge variety of color from natural to abnormal! Check out some of the variety here. Ion has permanent and semi-permanent colors available, so get on it!

Woman Crush Wednesday: Zendaya

Can you guess who my woman crush is this week? Starting strong with Zendaya! Why? Because she's got a very bright future ahead of herself. I also like that I don't read about her doing awful things or being a brat. She strikes me as laid back, and I can relate to that. AT just 17, this girl has more going for herself than a lot of other people do. And her album... Not bad at all!

See what I mean? That song is awesome. I love the album, but I digress. I'm sure you just came here for the pics sooo:

She's young, yeah, but still gorgeous and talented. And I don't have to worry about my little sisters being fans of her. I hope. On a final note, Zendaya has some wicked style.

GNC Women's Ripped Vitapak program: Week 2 Review

With the new year in full swing, I'm sure there are people who are still hanging in there with that resolution to lose weight. This post is just for you! I have spent the past 7 years working on my own weight issues and over that time I have tried everything from diet pills to psycho diets. One thing I will say is that there really are no short cuts when it comes to weight loss. There are helpers though.

photo from www.GNC.com

I want to start by saying that this vitapak is a huge help for your midsection. With all the CLA in it, it's amazing for that. There are plenty of pros and cons I want to share with you, in the hopes that this will better help you than a short website review.

Pros

I want to first talk about the B vitamins in this. They keep me energized and are great! I like to take this before a work out so I have the energy to blast through my workout and not feel like crap afterwards. It's the energy boost one would need, especially on the days where the diet changes really make you feel sluggish.

Another pro is the biotin included. My nails have grown really fast over the past 2 weeks and my hair feels amazing! My skin is also starting to show a little change for the better. it's 5000 mg of Biotin is definitely going to make a difference when taken daily.

I will mention once again that the amount of CLA in this pack. CLA is good for cutting belly fat. if you're wanting to sculpt away a chubby tummy, then this pack is a dream come true.

Cons

The biggest con I have with this vitapak is the size of the pills. Freaking horse pills. -___-;

All of those in the morning... Most of them are HUGE!
Look at the size of those pills! The big orange ones are Women's Ultra Mega Active without Iron. They have Vitamins A, C, D, E, K, B-6, B-12, and a lot more. That's great but the pill size it's self is "Ultra Mega!" Not a problem I guess if you're used to taking supplements. The yellow ones are CLA 1000 mg capsules. 4000mg of CLA a say? Okay. I'll take it! (Even if it feels like it's getting stuck in my throat)

While we're looking at the photo: The red capsule is X-12, the grayish color capsule is Waterex (makes you pee... D': ), and the white capsule is Biotin 5000.

Another con is all the B vitamins you get. Don't take this on a day where you want to just relax. You'll get all jittery and end up doing a lot more than planned. It's good and bad. Do not take this after noon or you will be up all night. The caffeine and B vitamins are really powerful!

Overall

I recommend this to anyone who wants a little extra help with their workouts. The biotin is a real perk that can't be overlooked by anyone who is a girly girl like myself either. To work past the cons of the huge pills, just take them one at a time and with PLENTY of water.

Overall I give this product a 4/5. You should check it out for yourself though, as I'm not expert. You can find it here.

Hope this helps!
